CATALINA ISLAND MUSEUM
Working with the staff and board, Jones & Jones provided programming and pre-design services for a new facility situated in the center of town, at the old City Hall site. The museum complex will take its cue from the cascading hillsides of Avalon, ascending the site in a stepped manner to create spaces for rooftop gardens and terraces. Support facilities will include an education area, research library, administrative suite, staff housing, and parking. The new Catalina Island Museum will be a gathering place for visitors and residents to immerse themselves in the local arts, entertainment, and traditions that comprise Catalina’s unique history and cultural heritage.
