Jones & Jones master-planned the lake environs, sited the center on previously disturbed land and designed the Center to interpret the natural and cultural history of the forested watershed preserve. The Center’s educational programs focus on local wildlife and plant communities, forest and timber resources, fisheries and related scientific research.
A network of pedestrian trails connects the Center to the lakeshore recreation area and the water department’s administrative headquarters. The Center complex provides a living demonstration of the beauty and value of a healthy watershed.
